THE PERIMETER CLUB

THE PERIMETER CLUB

The following list is not all-inclusive, but serves as a list of possible perimeters that you may already have traveled, or that you plan to travel in the future. Some of the possible methods of transportation include, but are not limited to the following: walking, jogging, running, swimming, skating, sledding, soapbox, tobogganing, skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, rollerblading, rowing, paddling, sailing, motor boating, pogo sticking, stilts, crutches, walker, stroller, wheelchair, peddle car, unicycle, bicycle, tricycle, 4-wheeler, automobile, truck, locomotive, train, tram, subway, trolley, monorail, steam, electric, pneumatic, solar, hydrogen, rocket, jet, hot air balloon, zeppelin, blimp, helium, catapult, helicopter, glider, ultra-light, hang-glider, parachute, etc. Here then are some possible perimeters for use when compiling your list of accomplished perimeters or when researching your next adventure: neighborhood, town, township, county, parish, province, territory, state, region, island, country, lake, mountains, desert, forest, national park, sea, peninsula, continent, hemisphere, archipelago, ocean, world, moon, planet, sun, etc. (For example, I have now completed over 59 trips around the perimeter of the sun. How many trips have you completed?) The object is to record as many perimeter trips as possible, listing the dates of the accomplishment, how many miles, how long it took, the location of the perimeter, etc. As far as possible, we can compare our accomplishments with others our age and our same level of fitness. (For example, on January 1, 2008 I began walking the perimeter of my neighborhood in Upland, California, and today is December 31, 2008, and I have walked this 7-mile perimeter a total of 300 times, or 2100 miles in one year.) This is equivalent to walking around the perimeter of California in one year. (Equivalents are allowed.) Best of everything as you accomplish your perimeter goals!
